1) The Union Cabinet approved signing of a pact between the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) and Canada's Manitoba Securities Commission. 

➠ The bilateral Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) seeks to have a formal basis for cross-border co-operation in the area of securities regulations.

➠The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) is the regulatory body for securities and commodity market in India under the jurisdiction of Ministry of Finance , Government of India. It was established on 12 April 1988 and given Statutory Powers on 30 January 1992 through the SEBI Act, 1992.

2) India has been elected to four key bodies of the UN Economic and Social Council, including the Commission on Science and Technology for Development.

➠ The Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) is one of the six principal organs of the UN System established by the UN Charter in 1945. It consists of 54 members of the United Nations elected by the General Assembly.

3) Vice President of India M. Venkaiah Naidu presented the International Gandhi Awards for Leprosy, 2021 to Dr Bhushan Kumar of Chandigarh.

4) World Art Day is observed every year on 15 April.

➠To honour and mark the birthday of the greatest artist of all time, Italian polymath Leonardo da Vinci, UNESCO's General Conference in 2012 declared April 15 World Art Day.

5) Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya, or the Prime Ministers' museum, dedicated to all Prime Ministers of the country since independence.

➠The Pradhanmentri Sangrahalaya is housed at the repurposed Teen Murti Bhava in Delhi. It was the residence for 16 years of Jawaharlal Nehru.

6) Ministry of Panchayati Raj organised National Conference on Localisation of SDGs on Child Friendly Village and Women Friendly Village as part of Iconic Week celebrations to mark Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

7) Paytm has integrated the eRaktKosh which is a centralized blood bank management app set up by the Indian government. 

➠The eRaktKosh platform, built by C-DAC, is an initiative to connect, digitize and streamline the workflow of 2100+ blood banks across the nation.

8) Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) is organising 'Sabka Vikas Mahaquiz' series, as part of an outreach to build awareness amongst citizens about the government's various schemes and initiatives.

9) Every year, the state of Himachal Pradesh celebrates Himachal Day on April 15. The day is celebrated to commemorate the creation of Himachal Pradesh.

➠In 1971, Himachal Pradesh became the 18th state in India with Shimla as its capital.

10) Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya M. Scindia and Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu flagged off the first flight of Made in India HAL Dornier Do-228 to link airports as well as Advanced Landing Grounds (ALGs) of India's Northeast region.

11) Young Indian Grandmaster R Pragganandhaa won the prestigious Reykjavik Open chess tournament here with 7.5 points from nine rounds. 

➠ The 16-year-old Pragganandhaa defeated compatriot GM D Gukesh in the final round to emerge sole winner.
