1) Facebook has changed its parent company name to Meta.

➨ Zuckerberg said that the company is rebranding itself as Meta in an effort to encompass its virtual-reality vision for the future.

➨Only the name of the parent company has been changed. There is no change in the names of individual platforms like Facebook, Instagram or WhatsApp.

2) In a significant boost to the maritime safety and security of the nation, the indigenously built Indian Coast Guard Ship 'Sarthak' was commissioned and dedicated to the nation at Goa by the Director General of Indian Coast Guard K Natarajan.

3) Former cricketer Yuvraj Singh’s YouWeCan Foundation has launched the ‘Swasth Mahila, Swasth Goa’ initiative in partnership with SBI Foundation and Goa government. 

➨ Under this initiative, free breast cancer screening will be done for 1 lakh women in Goa over a period of two years covering 50% of the age-eligible female population.

4) In a first in Asia, India will develop container-based mobile hospitals that can be moved by rail or air to address a health emergency.

➨The provision will be under the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission that was launched by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

5) India successfully test-fired Agni-V, a surface-to-surface ballistic missile, was launched from APJ Abdul Kalam Island.

➨ This event coincides with the celebration of Infantry Day in India.

➨This missile can hit targets up to 5000 km very accurately. It uses a three-stage solid-fuelled engine.

6) The Odisha Government has decided to set up 34 child-friendly police stations across the state in a bid to alleviate the stress of children who visit the police station for any reason.

➨These special police stations would be set up in all 34 police districts of the state.

7) Union Minister of Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya M. Scindia released Krishi UDAN 2.0. Krishi UDAN 2.0 lays out the vision of improving value realization through better integration and optimization of agri-harvesting and air transportation and contributing to agri-value chain sustainability and resilience under different and dynamic conditions.

8) The Delhi cabinet headed by chief minister Arvind Kejriwal approved the proposal to add Ayodhya as one more pilgrimage destination under the Mukhyamantri Tirth Yatra Yojana that was started in mid-November 2019. 

➨Ayodhya is the latest addition to the list of Jagannath Puri, Ujjain, Shirdi, Amritsar, Vaishno Devi, Dwarkadhish, Tirupati, Rameswaram, Haridwar, Mathura and Bodh Gaya.

9) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin formally launched Illam Thedi Kalvi (education at doorsteps) scheme to reduce the learning gap for children from Classes 1 to 8 due to COVID-19 lockdown.

2020 - भारतीय नौसेना ने बंगाल की खाड़ी में INS कोरा से एंटी-शिप मिसाइल का सफल परीक्षण किया।
