▪️1842 - एस. सुब्रह्मण्य अय्यर - स्वतंत्रता सेनानी, शिक्षाविद्‌ और सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता।

▪️1847 - भारत के स्वाधीनता आंदोलन में प्रमुख भूमिका निभाने वाली थियोसोफिकल सोसायटी की सदस्य ऐनी बेसेंट का लंदन में जन्म हुआ।

▪️1895 - लियाक़त अली ख़ाँ - पाकिस्तान के प्रथम प्रधानमंत्री। जिन्होंने पाकिस्तान आन्दोलन के दौरान मुहम्मद अली जिन्ना के साथ कई दौरे किये।

▪️1901 - प्रताप सिंह कैरों - स्वतंत्रता सेनानी एवं पंजाब के भूतपूर्व मुख्यमंत्री।

▪️1904 - ए. के. गोपालन - केरल के प्रसिद्ध कम्युनिस्ट नेता और भारत के स्वतंत्रता सेनानी।

▪️1906 - महान पार्श्व गायक गायक सचिन देव बर्मन का जन्म कोमालिया (बांग्लादेश) में हुआ।

▪️1919 - मजरूह सुल्तानपुरी - भारतीय हिन्दी फ़िल्मों के बहुत ही प्रसिद्ध गीतकार।

▪️1924 - जिमी कार्टर - अमेरिका के 39वें राष्ट्रपति।

▪️1927 - शिवाजी गणेशन - तमिल फ़िल्म अभिनेता।

▪️1928 - सूरज भान - एक भारतीय राजनीतिज्ञ तथा पूर्व उत्तर प्रदेश, बिहार तथा हिमाचल प्रदेश के राज्यपाल है। वे राष्ट्रीय अनुसूचित जाति आयोग के अध्यक्ष रह चुके है। वे एक दलित नेता है।

▪️1945 - रामनाथ कोविंद - भारतीय जनता पार्टी (भाजपा) के राजनेता है। वे राज्य सभा के भी सदस्य रह चुके है। वर्तमान भारत के राष्ट्रपति।

▪️1951 - जी. एम. सी. बालायोगी - भारत के प्रसिद्ध राजनीतिज्ञ, पूर्व लोकसभा अध्यक्ष।

▪️1966 - त्रिलोक सिंह ठकुरेला - राजस्थान साहित्य अकादमी द्वारा पुरस्कृत।

▪️1975 - सचिन देव बर्मन - बंगला और हिन्दी सिनेमा के प्रसिद्ध संगीतकार तथा गायक।
